01 The Brand
Necavu Studio was founded by three women: Hazlin, Kirtana, and myself. We started this brand because we believe in the importance of appreciating and crediting traditions. To truly understand the craft, the founders attend numerous hands-on workshops in India. The goal of establishing Necavu Studio is to create a community in Singapore that values handicraft culture. To achieve our goal, we combine traditional methods with modern designs in order to appeal to a large market.

Mission: Necavu Studio merges contemporary design with conscious production that empowers heritage culture and social responsibility.
02 The Inspiration

This is the concept board for the first collection called Pretty in Prints. We were inspired by the Indian culture, the silhouette of the taj mahal architecture, and also nature. We are going for bright colours to appeal to our target market.

For every collection, we aim to tell a story. For pretty in prints, each print has a special meaning behind it. Our first print is called Jannat. Jannat is inspired by the silhouette of the taj mahal and the victory of battles fought for independence. Love, pain, and victory are deep-rooted with the print.

Our second print is Ekta. Ekta took inspiration from nature, specifically the shape and interior of the tree trunks. The placement of circles, it symbolizes unity. Like every tree, each Ekta print is unique.
